OnePlus has launched two mid-range devices in quick succession. While the OnePlus Nord CE is a month old now, the OnePlus Nord 2 has just arrived. The OnePlus Nord 2 is the company's first device to be powered by a MediaTek chipset. It ships with MediTek Dimensity 1200 AI SoC, whereas the OnePlus Nord CE gets a Snapdragon 750 SoC.
OnePlus Nord 2 features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device gets up to 12GB RAM and 256 of onboard storage. It sports a triple camera setup on the rear and a single front-facing camera for selfies. Besides this, the device is powered by a 4500mAh battery with support for 65W charging.
On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord CE also features a similar-sized 90Hz AMOLED display, a triple rear camera setup and a 4500mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.
The OnePlus Nord 2 is made available at a starting price of Rs 27,999, whereas the base variant of the OnePlus Nord CE goes for Rs 22,999. Besides the price, there are plenty of differences between the two, so without any further ado, let's talk about them in detail.
The OnePlus Nord 2 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage goes for Rs 27,999. Whereas the other two variants with 8GB RAM/128GB storage and 12GB RAM/256GB storage are made available at Rs 29,999 and Rs 34,999, respectively.
On the other hand, the base variant of OnePlus Nord CE is priced at Rs 22,999, the mid variant goes for Rs 24,999, whereas the top variant sells for Rs 27,999.
--Both the OnePlus Nord 2 and OnePlus CE feature distinct designs while the OnePlus Nord CE looks similar to the OnePlus Nord, the OnePlus Nord 2 follows the design aesthetics of the OnePlus 9. Both these devices feature triple rear camera systems and a single punch-hole camera on the front. However, the OnePlus Nord CE gets a 3.5mm headphone jack, whereas the OnePlus Nord 2 doesn't.
--As far as the specs are concerned, the OnePlus Nord 2 features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels and a pixel density of 410ppi. The display brings support for sRGB and Display P3 colour gamuts. Further, the smartphone is powered by the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI SoC. It is an octa-core chipset built on a 6nm manufacturing process. Furthermore, the chipset is clocked at 3GHz and paired with Mali G77 MC9 GPU.
--This smartphone is made available in three RAM and storage configurations. Its base variant gets 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, the mid-model comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB, and the top-end model is equipped with 12GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. OnePlus has LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage here.
--In the camera department, the OnePlus Nord 2 sports a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary shooter with 6P lens and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor with 119.7-degree field of view and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) and another 2-megapixel macro lens. Whereas on the front, it gets a 32-megapixel IMX615 sensor for selfies. The selfie shooter also gets EIS support. While the rear cameras can shoot 4K 30fps videos, the video capability of the front camera is capped to 1080p at 30fps.
--OnePlus Nord 2 is powered by a larger 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging. The smartphone ships with Oxygen OS 11/ColorOS 11.3 based on Android 11. Connectivity options include 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and USB-Type C.
--Now, talking about the brand's most affordable offering in the country, the OnePlus Nord CE. It features a 6.4 inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 750 chipset further powers the device. This is an octa-core chipset based on an 8nm manufacturing process and clocked at 2.2 GHz.
--The OnePlus Nord CE is offered in three RAM and storage variants, the base variant gets 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, the mid variant comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, whereas the top variant comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage.
--The smartphone sports a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. While on the front, it gets a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies.
--Furthermore, the device is powered by a 4500mAh battery with support for fast charging. It is also 5G capable and brings connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm jack. Finally, the device runs Android 11 with OxygenOS 11 on top.
