The domestic markets ended fairly lower in trade on Thursday as caution prevailed ahead of the outcome of Bihar election results, scheduled to be released on November 08. Exit polls are due later in the day.

The S&P BSE Sensex settled the day 248.72 points lower at 26,304.20, while broader CNX Nifty ended at 7,955.45, down 84.75 points after breaching its crucial psychological level of 7,950 in the late trade.

Market breadth turned fairly negative with 23 of the 30 Sensex stocks ending the day in red.

Here are top stocks which will remain in focus today:

  1. Ashok Leyland: Shares of Ashok Leyland sank over 6 per cent in trade on Thursday after the company reported September quarter results below Street expectations. The stock ended 5.81 per cent lower after hitting an intraday low of Rs 86.40, down 6.23 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
  2. CPCL: Shares of Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) cracked over 15 per cent in trade on Thursday after the company reported a loss of Rs 452.39 crore during the quarter ended September 2015 as against loss of Rs 233.14 crore, a year ago. The stock ended the day 9.81 per cent lower after hitting an intraday low of Rs 181.30, down 15.51 per cent on BSE.
  3. Bata India: Shares of Bata India fell over 4 per cent in trade on Thursday after the footwear major reported a 38.74 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 54.11 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The stock ended the day 4.39 per cent down hit an intraday low of Rs 462, down 4.92 per cent on
  4. Sadbhav Engineering: Infrastructure frim Sadbhav Engineering shares ended nearly 3 per cent lower after the company on Wednesday posted over two-fold rise in standalone net profit at Rs 26.19 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015.
  5. Repco Home Finance: Shares of Repco Home Finance ended 1.67 per cent down after the housing finance division of Repco Bank said the company's board approved the reappointment of Managing Director R Varadarajan for a period of three years.
  6. PNC Infratech: Shares of PNC Infratech settled the day 2.28 per cent down after the company reported 18.22 per cent drop in consolidated net profit at Rs 17.81 crore for the quarter ended September 30 on increase in depreciation on account of Kanpur-Kabrai BOT project.
  7. DLF: Shares of realty major DLF settled the day 4.87 per cent down after the company on Wednesday said its promoters are likely to sell their 40 per cent stake in the company's rental arm DLF Cyber City Developers Ltd (DCCDL) by the end of this fiscal.
  8. Canara Bank: Canara Bank shares ended 1.57 per cent lower after the company reported a 15.6 per cent fall in its September quarter net profit at Rs 528.86 crore, impacted by higher provisions.
  9. Novartis India: Shares of Novartis India surged nearly 6 per cent in trade on Thursday after the company reported a multi-fold jump in its standalone net profit at Rs 103.82 crore for the September quarter on back of slump sale of its OTC division to GlaxoSmithKline Plc. The stock ended flat after hitting an intraday high of Rs 910, up 5.69 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
  10. Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care: Shares of Procter & Gamble ended over 1 per cent down after the company reported a 13.46 per cent rise in its standalone net profit to Rs 69.78 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015.
