Efforts to adopt new standards for global plane tracking and co-operation on the risks of flying over conflict zones will dominate the meeting in Montreal from Feb 2-5.
Excluding one-time items such as charges for restructuring and a change
in the fair value of debentures, the company said the loss was 2 cents a
share.
The Waterloo, Ontario-based company reported net income of $23
million, or 4 cents a share, compared with a loss of $84 million, or 16
cents, a year earlier.
Fairfax is exercising a previously announced option linked to BlackBerry's recent $1 billion debt financing, in which it had initially bought $250 million.
