Hyundai Motor, whose sedan-heavy line-up has held it back in a US market powered by sports utility vehicles, is considering developing larger SUVs based on its Genesis luxury sedan.
Reports earlier this week had said the Indian auto major plans to raise its stake in the South Korean company to 90-95 per cent from 72.85 per cent.

A Kia Motors spokesman said the carmaker had "no current plan to build a new factory in India or enter the market".
Pantech, South Korea's No.3 smartphone maker, has been under a debt-restructuring programme after suffering six consecutive quarters of losses due to fierce competition.
It also has a 1-watt speaker system, a first for smartphones and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
