Hyundai CRETA SUV adjudged Indian Car of The YearCars are judged on various parameters such as price, fuel efficiency, styling, comfort, safety, features, performance, practicality, technical innovation, and value for money keeping in view suitability for Indian consumers and driving conditions.

It has been history of sorts with South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor India bagging the coveted 'Indian Car of the Year' trophy for the third time in the row. Its compact SUV, CRETA surged ahead of its competitors like Maruti Baleno hatchback and the Renault Kwid compact car to emerge as the winner for 2016.

Hyundai Motor India, the country's second largest car manufacturer, is the only manufacturer to win three successive ICOTY awards. Its Grand i10 and Elite i20 hatchbacks were cars of the year for two previous years. Cars are judged on various parameters such as price, fuel efficiency, styling, comfort, safety, features, performance, practicality, technical innovation, and value for money keeping in view suitability for Indian consumers and driving conditions.

The Hyundai CRETA launched in July has become a trendsetter in the Indian market with over 74,000 bookings and 400,000 enquiries till date. Hyundai has also bagged 16,271 orders for the SUV globally.

The award conceptualised in the line with the American & European and Japanese Car of the Year. In addition Yamaha R3 was adjudged as the Indian Motorcycle of The Year.
