Wipro’s Executive Chairman Emphasises On Transparency

The ongoing debate in the tech space around moonlighting sparked off by Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji’s tweet on how it amounts to cheating, posed a lot of questions in the $130 billion Indian IT industry. India Today & Aaj Tak News Director Rahul Kanwal caught up with Rishad Premji, Executive Chairman, Wipro at the World Economic Forum in Davos and quizzed him on what he makes of the practice. Even as Premji favours people pursuing their passions and ambitions outside of work, he believes that it is important to maintain transparency without violating the terms of the contract with the organization. “Very much in support of the gig-economy, very much in support of people having multiple jobs if they want as long as they have transparency with the organisation’, said Premji.
