In an exclusive conversation, Maneesh Dangi, CEO and Founder of Mosaic Asset Management, shared his insights on the global and Indian economic outlook for 2025, highlighting challenges in equity markets and macroeconomic conditions. Dangi emphasized that 2025 is likely to be a year of cautious investing, urging equity investors to maintain discipline and manage expectations. He pointed out that the global economy remains uneven, with the US performing moderately well, but Europe and China facing persistent struggles. India, too, has entered a slowdown, with indicators like GST and corporate tax growth, credit growth, and consumption patterns decelerating steadily. Dangi noted that while this slowdown is part of the natural economic cycle, it is unlikely to reverse meaningfully in the near term. He expects the next six to eight months to be marked by weaker macroeconomic conditions until external factors, such as potential rate cuts or fiscal interventions, provide relief. With equity markets unlikely to deliver substantial returns in this environment, Dangi urged investors to adopt a cautious and measured approach in 2025.
