Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) recorded a massive net sell-off of ₹11,756 crore on November 28, reversing the buying trend seen earlier in the week. According to Mayuresh Joshi, Head of Equity Research at William O’Neil India, multiple factors contributed to this sell-off. Rising bond yields in the US, expectations of policy changes under Trump’s administration, and concerns over global inflation and tariff impositions have created uncertainty. In the Indian context, weak earnings performance, profit booking ahead of the financial year-end for Western institutions, and geopolitical factors have added pressure. Despite this, domestic liquidity may help offset FIIs' selling impact. Markets are expected to consolidate in a defined range, with no major structural downside or upside anticipated in the near term.
