
PVR INOX Ltd., India’s largest and most premium cinema chain, is gearing up for a major boost in footfalls with next month’s highly anticipated release of Pushpa 2. This blockbuster is expected to drive significant audience turnout across North and South India. The company has also introduced Movie Jockey (MJ), an AI-powered chatbot on WhatsApp, designed to revolutionize movie discovery and booking. "WhatsApp is the most popular communication platform in India, and MJ ensures that discovering and booking movies is easier than ever for our customers,” said Sanjeev Bijli. The chatbot offers personalized movie recommendations, seamless ticket bookings, and F&B pre-orders in six languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. “With MJ, we’re leveraging WhatsApp’s familiarity to provide an intuitive and hassle-free experience for cinema-goers,” Bijli added. He also revealed the group’s expansion focus, particularly in South India, sharing, “This year, we’ve opened 70 screens across metros and small towns, and plan to open 40 more screens soon.”
