Are Towns Like Pauri, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi And Tehri Also At Risk?

Even as the Pilgrim town of Joshimath in Uttarakhand sinks, the same fate could befall other locations across the state as well. Other than Joshimath, towns like Pauri, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, and Tehri are also at risk. Land subsidence -- a silent disaster -- is taking hold of the Himalayan region. Residents in Uttarkashi are on their toes fearing the same fate as the sinking Joshimath. Locals are in panic due to the cracks in houses and the water that is flowing under their homes.
