
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw addressed the issue of regulating vulgar content on social media during a session in the Lok Sabha on November 27. Responding to a question from Lok Sabha member Arun Govil about laws to curb abusive content, Vaishnaw emphasized the cultural differences between India and the countries where these social media platforms originate. He called for the Standing Committee of Parliament to take up the matter and urged the formulation of stringent laws to tackle the issue.
