Ashwini Vaishnaw Discusses Bullet Train Project In Lok Sabha

India is making strides in developing bullet trains with indigenous technology, according to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, he highlighted the complexity of the bullet train project, particularly the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route, which is being implemented with Japan's assistance. Notably, this project includes the construction of India's first 21-km undersea rail tunnel. Vaishnaw emphasized that while India initially received bullet train technology from abroad, many related technologies have now been developed domestically. He underscored the goal of achieving self-reliance in this sector, aiming to fully develop bullet trains using indigenous technology.
