
Union Minister for Road, Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, reiterated Prime Minister Modi's ambitious goal of making India a five trillion-dollar economy. He proudly stated that India is presently the fastest-growing economy globally. Gadkari emphasized the pivotal role played by the automobile industry, which currently boasts a turnover of Rs 7.5 lakh crores and contributes significantly to GST revenue for both the central and state governments. Moreover, this sector creates an impressive 4 crore 50 lakh jobs, playing a crucial role in employment generation. To ensure the country's sustained growth, Gadkari stressed the importance of promoting industry, trade, business, and agriculture, while also giving priority to the development of essential infrastructure such as water, power, transport, and communication. He called for increased public-private investment in infrastructure to foster India's economic progress.
