Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal expressed optimism about India’s relationship with the United States under Donald Trump’s leadership. At a press conference, Goyal described Trump as a “friend of India” and emphasized that ties between the two nations have strengthened over the years, spanning the administrations of Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden. Addressing concerns about potential tariffs on Indian goods under the new US administration, Goyal urged caution, saying, “We need not jump the gun and should allow the new government to take charge and present their formal views.” Based on his prior experience with Trump’s administration, Goyal reassured that he did not foresee any issues affecting the bilateral relationship. He reiterated India’s eagerness to engage in constructive discussions with the US to further enhance economic and trade ties. Listen in to know more.
