
The Cabinet has granted approval for a viability gap funding scheme aimed at advancing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This initiative sets forth ambitious goals, intending to develop 4,000 MWh of BESS projects by 2030-31. It includes substantial financial backing, offering up to 40% of the capital cost as budgetary support. Union Minister Anurag Thakur announced this significant step, highlighting the government's commitment to bolstering energy infrastructure and sustainability.
