Centre Extends Minimum Public Shareholding Waiver For PSUs For A Specified Period

A push that can boost privatisation of public sector firms. The government has exempted the minimum public shareholding rules for PSU banks and CPSEs headed for privatisation. Currently, companies need to have a minimum public shareholding of 25%. It's now been decided that PSUs being privatised will be exempt from this rule.
