India’s skies are in complete turmoil as the IndiGo crisis deepens for the seventh straight day. More than 450 flights were cancelled on Monday alone, pushing operations into unprecedented disarray. At Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, 134 flights were cancelled, leaving terminals overflowing with stranded baggage and frustrated passengers. Cancellations hit major cities across the country—127 in Bengaluru, 77 in Hyderabad, 71 in Chennai, and 16 in Srinagar. At several airports, IndiGo staff were seen distributing food packets to calm restless travellers. In Parliament, Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu told the Rajya Sabha that the situation was “an operational issue created by the airline itself,” adding that a strict example would be set “for the entire aviation industry.” As political tempers rise, the Opposition continues to demand accountability from the government. Meanwhile, millions of passengers face long queues, rising chaos, and no clarity on when normalcy will return.
