FM Launches “Your Capital, Your Rights” Campaign To Return ₹1.84L Crore Unclaimed Funds

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched the “Your Capital, Your Rights” campaign in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, aiming to return ₹1.84 lakh crore of unclaimed financial assets to their rightful owners. The three-month initiative, involving the RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, PFRDA, IEPFA, banks, insurance firms, mutual funds, and pension institutions, focuses on the three A’s: awareness, outreach, and action. Citizens can track unclaimed deposits via the RBI’s UDGAM portal or bank stalls. Over ₹75,000 crore is with RBI, ₹13,800 crore in unclaimed insurance, and ₹12,000 crore in mutual funds and dividends. Officials will actively locate and assist beneficiaries to reclaim their assets.
