Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted the huge benefits of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to the country’s vast population. In a fireside chat at the Wharton Business School in University of Pennsylvania on Monday, October 22, she spoke of the outcome of the digital access Indian citizens enjoy. “Today, India wouldn't have been the fastest growing economy if the people hadn't utilised the digital infrastructure, which was available to them at free of cost. It reached the people through various campaigns & awareness programmes even in their own local languages”, the Finance Minister said. She also talked of the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, calling it one of the best social security programs.
