At the India Today Conclave Pop-Up Rahul Kanwal, Executive Director, Business Today spoke exclusively to Ian Bremmer on the view of India from the Outside. Bremmer draws parallels between the growth trajectories of two Asian giants, India and China, highlighting India's more enduring international relationships. Despite facing domestic opposition, particularly within India, Prime Minister Modi aims to position India as a global leader and a bridge between the East and West, with the exception of Canada. India's ability to maintain stable ties with Europe, Japan, and the United States simultaneously is noted as a significant asset. Unlike China, whose rise often addresses historical grievances, India's growth narrative isn't driven by anti-colonial sentiment, though it lacks the spectacular pace of China's growth. Bremmer acknowledges India's appeal to investors but cautions against viewing its rise as inevitable, citing considerable uncertainty both globally and domestically.
