Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a major step towards self-reliance under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme. Speaking to the media, he revealed that India will soon produce high-demand components such as PCBs, copper laminates, camera modules, and thin film capacitors domestically. Vaishnaw highlighted that multi-layered PCBs will meet 20% of India’s needs, camera modules 15%, and copper laminates 100%. This initiative aims to reduce import dependence, strengthen the manufacturing ecosystem, and make India a global hub for electronics production.
