Kumar Mangalam Birla Urges MSME Inclusion In Digital Revolution At ITU Assembly

At the International Telecommunication Union World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, underscored the critical role of digital connectivity in India's growth and transformation. He commended the government for its unwavering commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure, noting that the administration has consistently recognized the importance of digital connectivity and implemented various reforms to propel the nation toward a more connected and inclusive future. During the inauguration of the 8th India Mobile Congress, Birla emphasized the significant progress achieved in the telecom sector, which has played a vital role in providing connectivity to citizens across India. He credited the Prime Minister's focus on digital infrastructure for accelerating digital adoption among both individuals and businesses. Birla also highlighted the Vi Business Ready for Next program, which is designed to assist small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in assessing their digital readiness and adopting necessary digital solutions. Since its launch in June 2022, over 160,000 MSMEs have utilized the Vi platform to enhance their digital capabilities. Birla expressed confidence that leveraging the power of telecom platforms can foster a thriving digital ecosystem, empowering MSMEs to contribute significantly to India’s economic growth and prosperity.
