“Make Sense To Give Russia Multiple Options...” Comments Jaishankar On Russia-China Ties

At the 9th Edition of Raisina Dialogues, Dr. S Jaishankar, External Affairs Foreign Minister talks about the India – China ties and the Impact of China & Russia ties on India. He addressed the complexities of maintaining the equilibrium between India & China. Jaishankar stressed the importance of leveraging external factors to achieve favorable terms in the bilateral relationship. The mind games which will be played would be ‘It's just between the two of us and other 190 odd countries in the world don't exist in our relationship’. That would be the mind game played," Jaishankar elaborated. “I don't think we should play it. If there are other factors in the world that can be harnessed by me to get better terms on an equilibrium, why should I forgo that right?” Speaking on the China & Russia ties he asserted Russia's growing trade influence in Asia and explained why there is a sense in giving multiple options to Russia.
