
On Thursday, October 17, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, chaired the Tech Leaders Roundtable at the Chamber of Commerce in Guadalajara, Mexico focusing on "Strengthening Technological Cooperation between India and Mexico." During her address, the Finance Minister emphasized the immense opportunities and responsibilities shared by similarly placed economies like India and Mexico. She highlighted how both nations can leverage their strengths to collaborate and grow together.Sitharaman noted Mexico’s success with nearshoring, which has fostered partnerships between multinational companies, enabled talent exchange, and encouraged joint efforts in risk mitigation. She also underscored India's rapid transformation as it strives toward the ambitious goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.Puru Manavalan, Country Head for Mexico & Central America at Cognizant, shared his insights on scaling up collaborations between India and Mexico following the roundtable discussion. He emphasized the potential for synergistic growth between the two nations. Similarly, Vijay Malik, Global Marketing & Regional Head (Americas) at Hinduja Tech, spoke about the increased role of India and Mexico in nearshoring, focusing on deeper collaborations in R&D, manufacturing, and technology sectors.
