
Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, emphasized the transformative potential of the Vehicle Scrapping Policy during a recent discussion. He highlighted that individuals possessing scrapping certificates can avail benefits of up to ₹50,000 on the purchase of new vehicles. Setting up new scrapping centers across the country to implement this policy effectively. At a two-day workshop organized by MoRTH on January 6 and 7, 2025, experts deliberated on crucial topics such as the accelerated implementation of the Vehicle Scrapping Policy, the nationwide adoption of PUCC 2.0, and timelines for introducing BS-VII norms. These initiatives are expected to significantly reduce pollution and boost India’s automobile industry, creating a more sustainable future for road transport.
