
Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal met 54 of the 111 Indian unicorns on Wednesday, Jan 17 which has been declared the National Startup Day. The marathon meeting was attended by some of the biggest names in fintech, medtech, aggrotech, travel, auto, and other sectors. While the Minister announced a ‘Startup Maha Kumbh’ in March, the unicorns have decided to set up a ‘Startups Club of India’ to nurture and help entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. Piyush Goyal urged people of all age groups to join the startup ecosystem and contribute towards research and innovation. Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision on startups, the minister said, new-age skills, futuristic technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation will lay the roadmap for the future of India.
