A moment of history and pride — President Droupadi Murmu, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, took a 30-minute sortie in a Rafale fighter jet from the Ambala Air Force Station. The jet, flown by Group Captain Amit Gehani, had recently participated in Operation Sindoor, striking terror hubs deep inside Pakistan. The President also met Squadron Leader Shivangi Singh, India’s first woman Rafale pilot — the same officer Pakistan had falsely claimed was captured during the operation. Murmu later wrote in the visitors’ book that the flight filled her with “a renewed sense of pride in India’s defence capabilities.” A defining frame of courage, grace, and India’s air power.
