PSLV, UPI, Defence Tech – Mahajan On India’s Global Swadeshi Vision

Speaking with India Today, National Co-Convenor of RSS-affiliated Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Ashwani Mahajan clarifies the true meaning of 'Swadeshi'. Swadeshi is not about stopping imports or exports—it is about producing goods efficiently and innovatively so that they can compete globally. He says the focus is to 'Make in India for the world'. He highlights India's successes as examples of his vision, citing the development of the PSLV in the space sector, which launches international satellites. He also points to the global adoption of UPI in countries from France to Singapore and the international demand for India's indigenously produced defence equipment, including anti-drone systems and missiles, as proof of this capability. The focus is on supporting local entrepreneurship while engaging with global markets.
