
The US and India are strengthening their economic and military ties through a new framework called the U.S-India COMPACT (Catalysing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology) for the 21st Century. This initiative aims to deepen every aspect of the partnership between the two nations. The plan includes increasing military sales to India by billions of dollars and potentially providing India with F-35 stealth fighters in the future. There is also a deepening in relations between the two countries to counter-terrorism. In a Big move the U.S. has decided to extradite Tahawwur Rana, an accused in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
