World Exclusive: US Commerce Secretary Emphasises The Need To Negotiate ‘Smartly’

The United States has emphasised the need for India to open up its agriculture market. In a ‘world-exclusive’ conversation at the India Today Conclave, US Secretary of State Howard Lutnick made it clear that nothing was off the table in trade negotiations between India and the US, including the politically sensitive agriculture sector. “India needs to open up its agri sector to the US”, Lutnick told Business Today Executive Director Rahul Kanwal, adding that, “India could be smart about the whole thing by introducing quotas, limits and other tools.”
