Tamil Nadu’s political battle has taken a sharply personal turn, with police cases filed against DMK leaders A Raja, P K Sekarbabu and Vasantham Karthikeyan over alleged derogatory remarks targeting Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and Law Minister C T R Nirmal Kumar. The remarks came during DMK protests over Vijay’s comments on M K Stalin’s MISA detention. Raja later withdrew his controversial remarks against Nirmal Kumar after criticism. The political sparring has also spilled into Vijay’s UK visit, with BJP state chief Nainar Nagendran questioning aspects of the trip, while Vijay was seen at Silverstone with actor Trisha Krishnan and TVK minister Aadhav Arjuna.
