Mahindra launches XUV500 with automatic transmission

Utility vehicle major Mahindra & Mahindra on Wednesday launched its premium sports utility vehicle XUV500 with automatic transmission at a starting price of Rs 15.36 lakh (ex-showroom Navi Mumbai).

The automatic XUV500's W8 FWD variant will be available across Mahindra dealerships from December 5 onwards.

The New Age XUV500 Automatic offers a 6-speed Automatic Transmission with all wheel drive (AWD) as an option. The company has sourced the new automatic transmission for the first time from the leading global supplier AISIN, Japan.

The car is mated to the 2.2-litre mHawk engine to produce 142PS of power at 3,750rpm along with 330Nm torque between 1,600 and 2,800rpm.

The car comes with 6 airbags (front, side and curtain). Other prominent features include the electric sunroof, 6-way power adjustable driver's seat, fully automatic temperature control and reverse parking camera with dynamic assist.

New XUV500 also sports a 18 Cm (7-Inch) Touchscreen Infotainment System with GPS, USB audio, video and picture viewer.

The XUV500 was first launched in 2011, followed by its first major upgrade in 2015. M&M has sold over 1.5 lakh units of the premium SUV since its launch.
