Business Today hosted an engaging webinar previewing its most anticipated event of the year - the 'Adani BT India@100.' This insightful discussion laid the groundwork for Business Today's flagship event, scheduled for August 20 at the Leaders Lounge, Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. At this forum, top corporate leaders, thought leaders, and policymakers will delve deeper into India's journey towards becoming an economic powerhouse by 2047. During the webinar, Sourav Majumdar, Editor of Business Today, examined the critical issue of how India can escape the middle-income trap and increase its per capita income. Majumdar emphasized that for India to realize its vast economic potential, substantial and sustained efforts are required. He remarked, "For India to break out of the so-called middle-income trap that many nations have fallen into, sustained growth of around 7 to 10% over 20 to 30 years is essential. This kind of growth cannot be achieved by wishful thinking alone; detailed and focused groundwork is necessary. Works has already begun under the current government. Now in its third term, the NDA government has set the stage over the past two terms. Whether it's through Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), the Jan Dhan Yojana, or the various manufacturing initiatives this government has undertaken, such as the recent budget proposal that includes an employment-linked incentive aimed at generating more jobs and driving the economic agenda with job creation at its core, all these efforts collectively contribute to the overall vision for a Viksit Bharat by 2047."
