At the Adani_BTIndia@100 Summit, Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder of Ola, shared his thoughts on the implications of India's Digital Data Protection Act in the AI era. Addressing concerns about the law's adequacy in managing AI-related challenges, Aggarwal emphasized the importance of data sovereignty and unbiased AI models. He argued that global tech giants should not dictate what is right or wrong; instead, the law of the land should govern AI and social media algorithms, especially in a complex country like India. Aggarwal praised India's Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) movement as a unique approach that can provide global leadership in ensuring AI serves the public good. He highlighted India's significant data generation due to its large, youthful population, calling it a core strength that must be protected with strong policies on data sovereignty, residency, and management.
