Vijaya Bank opens fourth branch in Itanagar

State Finance Minister Setong Sena on Saturday inaugurated the fourth branch of Vijaya Bank in Itanagar and appealed to both nationalised and private banks to open more branches in the state to encourage financial inclusion.

He urged banks in Arunachal Pradesh to bring far-flung border areas under their coverage as banking in rural areas is an important aspect of economic development.

Vijaya Bank's Assistant General Manager (Guwahati) Gregory Lobo said that the new branch takes the count to 1,175 branches in the country, with 30 in the Northeast.
