Photo: ReutersThe cash back scheme of power major BSES saw around 5 lakh consumers availing its benefit amounting up to Rs 8 crore, the company on Thursday said.
Consumers who paid their electricity bills 7 days before the due date received Rs 200 cash back under the two-month-long scheme launched in February and Rs 150 on all other dates before the due date.
Among the beneficiaries, around 3 lakh are from BRPL (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited) and the rest are covered by BYPL (BSES Yamuna Power Limited), a BSES spokesperson said.
Consumers could make payment through various options including debit card, credit card, net banking and Paytm wallet for which the discom had entered into an agreement with the mobile wallet company.
BRPL and BYPL are distribution companies and joint ventures between Reliance-Infra and Delhi government.
