With digital wallets in India on a rise, leading names in this space are looking beyond the online presence and are trying to make a foot hold in the offline space as well.
FreeCharge, acquired by Snapdeal, has announced its partnership with ePaisa that will give consumers an easy access to over 1000 retailers, QSRs, exhibitors, high street stores and home delivery companies in India.
Govind Rajan, Chief Operating Officer, FreeCharge says, "We aim to able digital payments everywhere, offline and online. Our partnership with ePaisa is in line with our goal to be the payment OS. Our UI and transaction experience ensures that consumers have the swiftest yet safest digital payments experience - over 99 per cent of our transactions within 10 seconds."
On the other hand, Paytm too is focusing on omni-channel format and has tied-up with 5,500 stores including 4,000 brand exclusive mobile stores and 1,500 large appliance retailers.
Using this, Paytm claims that the customers can choose the offline store for shopping using Paytm wallet.
Amit Bagaria, Associate Vice President - Paytm says, "The offline retailers will be able to create a brand-specific store on our platform. They will be able to expand their reach significantly and drive sales by leveraging the power of e-commerce. We will soon be branching out with this model into other segments as well."
