Air-conditioning major Carrier on Friday said it has acquired building automation and management systems company Sauter Race Technologies for an undisclosed amount.
"The acquisition will close in the next four to eight weeks," Carrier said in a statement.
"This acquisition will strengthen our position in the integrated building management segments and position us to provide even more comprehensive end-to-end building management systems, including controls, fire and security solutions," it added.

"With acquisitions like this one, we will enhance our position by building scale, reach, product offerings and customer service capabilities across the country," United Technologies India President Zubin Irani said.
Commenting on the deal, Sauter Chief Executive Bertram Schmitz said, "the domestic market has slowly shifted from being predominantly focused on building management solutions to a wider range, including integrated safety, security and fire protection systems."
Sauter provides complete solutions for building automation, system engineering, software integration, installation & commissioning, maintenance, servicing and technical facility management.
