Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar met Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to rescue a luxury holiday resort that is embroiled in a security dispute with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Mussoorie, The Economic Times reported.

Tendulkar, who is also a Rajya Sabha member is a frequent visitor at the disputed luxury holiday resort. He even cut short a trip to Australia last year just to meet Parrikar with this request, the website reported.

Dahlia Bank, the disputed property in Landour's cantonment area is Tendulkar's favourite summer retreat that has allegedly breached the 50-foot, no-construction zone next to the a sensitive DRDO lab.

According to the report, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar discussed this issue in detail with the Indian batting legend but refrained from getting involved in the issue. The defence ministry has declined to issue a formal comment on the issue.
