Q. NON-RECEIPT OF STATEMENT
A. When you lodge a complaint, the card company will grant you a grace period without additional fee. However, if the problem persists, opt for a different address or receive the statement on e-mail.
Q. ERRONEOUS ENTRIES OR WRONG BILLING
A. The moment you notice an error in your statement, report it to the credit card call centre.The charge is immediately reversed and you pay only the undisputed amount. If later it is proven that you did make the purchase you will have to pay.
Q. IDENTITY THEFT
A. If the card has been misused by someone, the payment is reversed and then an enquiry is made.The card is blocked and you are issued a fresh one.
Q. UNSOLICITED CALLS ON USAGE
A. You can set a limit specifying that your confirmation be sought before approving the transaction over that limit.You can also opt to register with the do not call registry if you do not wish to be disturbed.
A. Card call centres are equipped to handle most card-related problems. Most are immediately sorted but some may need time to be addressed
Q. ADDITIONAL CHARGES AND LATE PAYMENTS BEING CHARGED
A. These are explained in the statement. Most often cardholders assume they are right on not paying these charges, when actually they paid after the due date.
Q. LOST CARD
A. Report card loss immediately.The liability on the card is yours till you report the loss. Note down complaint number for future reference.
Q. FEE ON FREE CARD
A. Cardholders are often unaware of the fee structure. Certain free cards are so if they are actively used. If not used for long periods of time, there is a fee to be paid.
Q. REWARD POINT REDEMPTION
A. All statements carry a reward point statement. Check how much you have earned and how they can be redeemed.
