Airlines are flying high as customers have given them a thumbs up. According to a survey, Customer Satisfaction of Domestic Airlines 2010, by consumer organisation Voice Society, the overall satisfaction with airlines is high. Six out of nine airlines received a score of 8.2 and more on a scale of 10 from the 3,700 respondents. Kingfisher was rated the best, followed by Paramount, GoAir, SpiceJet and IndiGo. Low-cost carriers (LCC) are making a splash as customers chose them over full-service carriers (FSC) citing value for money, punctuality and promptness to resolve consumer complaints as the main reasons. In fact, most respondents did not find a significant difference between their experience of flying with an LCC or a FSC.
Regarding the quality of in-flight services, most airlines scored well, with Paramount topping the list. The only exceptions were Air India and MDLR. Air India was also found to be the 'least responsive' to consumer complaints, while GoAir was voted the best in this regard.
