Photo: ReutersThe BSE Sensex witnessed a choppy trading session on Thursday, closing 45 points, or 0.17 per cent, lower at 27,206, with 18 components rising. The 50-share National Stock Exchange Nifty also lost 11.25 points, or 0.14 per cent, to 8,224.20.
Here are four stocks that made news today:
1. Man Industries (India): Shares of Man Industries jumped 14.53 per cent to Rs 69.35 after the company announced that it has received orders worth approximately Rs 510 crore from international oil and gas sector.
"The new order intake will result in significant improvement in performance of the company in the current financial year ended March 2016," Man Industries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. With these orders the outstanding executable order book as on date stands at Rs 1,300 crore.
The company's current market capitalisation is Rs 346 crore.
2. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals: Shares rose 2.74 per cent to Rs 914.10 after investment banking firm CLSA started covering the stock with 'buy' rating. CLSA has set a target price of Rs 1,060 for the stock.
"The pharma major is at the cusp of a revival with pick-up in US approvals," the investment firm said.
3. UFO Moviez: The digital cinema distribution firm made its debut on stock exchanges at Rs 600 per share. Shares of the company listed 4 per cent lower than the issue price of Rs 625. However, it ended the day at Rs 598.80 on the BSE and Rs 603.50 on the NSE.
4. Lupin: Shares of the drug major extended losses and tumbled 3.42 per cent to a three-month low after disappointing Q4 results. For the quarter ended March 2015, Lupin registered consolidated net profit of Rs 547.01 crore, down 1.08 per cent, against Rs 553.01 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. However, consolidated gross sales of the company jumped marginally 0.08 per cent year-on-year to 3,054.04 crore for the quarter under review.
