How will RBI's digital currency be different from UPI and Payment wallets?

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said the RBI will launch a central bank digital currency (CBDC) in 2022-23 but how will this central bank digital currency work and how will it be different from the current digital transactions via UPI and payment wallets.
