Mithun returns Saradha cash to Enforcement Directorate

Trinamool Congress MP and actor Mithun Chakraborty on Tuesday surrendered an amount of Rs 1.20 crore he had received from the scam-hit Saradha Group to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

According to sources, Mithun's counsel handed over a Demand Draft (DD) to the investigation officer (IO) of the case.

This was part of Mithun's earlier commitment that he would return the funds that he had received from the group.

Mithun had acted in Saradha Group's promotional videos and advertisements that were broadcasted on television.

He had also claimed that his association with the Ponzi firm was thoroughly professional.
