The uber cool ride in an 'Uber cab'

Arpita Mukherjee, Business Today's correspondent, gets into an Uber cab from One Indiabulls, Mumbai, and heads for a meeting. The application is free and downloadable on a smartphone. The on-call-cab can be booked instantly with a tap or two. She waited for about 20 minutes. Uber is an app-based marketplace that connects private fleet cabs with customers.

On the way to the meeting in the comfortable, and clean Uber cab, Mukherjee is fiddling with her mobile phone. The app allows customers to track the location on the map while on the move.

She heads back to One Indiabulls at a price tag of Rs. 549 for about 19 kms. The cashless payment is done through the app. The user has to register through a credit card. At the end of the journey, not only does the customer get to rate the ride, the cab driver also gets to rate the customer.
