PORTFOLIO MANAGERS
Umesh Gupta is the Head of Equities PMS at Ambit Global Private Client and the Portfolio Manager of Alpha Growth. He brings over 22 years of experience, with 19 years dedicated to the Indian capital markets. Prior to Ambit, he was the Head of Equities at Avendus Capital (2018–2020), Portfolio Manager at Reliance Private Client (2013–2018), and AVP – Research & Assistant Portfolio Manager at Reliance Private Client (2010–2013). He also worked as an Equity Research Analyst at Dalal & Broacha Stock Broking and Sharekhan (2005–2010), and as a Credit Officer & Business Analyst at Cholamandalam Finance and Consortium Finance (1999–2005). He holds a B.Com degree and an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad.
Ashutosh Garud is the Co-Fund Manager of Alpha Growth at Ambit Global Private Client. He has 20 years of extensive experience in equity markets, having worked initially on the sell side and for over a decade on the buy side. Prior to joining Ambit, he was VP and part of the Principal Investments team at Ocean Dial Asset Management (the FII arm of Avendus Capital) from 2019 to 2022. He previously served as Associate Fund Manager at Reliance Private Client (2014–2018), and as a Senior Equity Research Analyst at Dalal & Broacha Stock Broking (2008–2013). Earlier in his career, he also worked with Motilal Oswal and Prime Securities. Ashutosh is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA in Finance.
Over 20 years of experience in Equity Research and Fund Management. Earlier headed the PMS vertical at PGIM India Asset Management and served as Portfolio Manager for PGIM India PMS portfolios for 4 years. Previously Head of PMS and Principal Officer at Tata Asset Management for 7 years. Prior experience as Senior Research Analyst at Prabhudas Lilladher for 7 years, covering Autos and FMCG sectors. Bachelor’s in Management Studies from Sydenham College, Mumbai. Master’s in Management Studies from Sydenham Institute of Management and Research (SIMSREE), Mumbai.
