Government-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) recently revised its annual prepaid plan that came for Rs 365 annual prepaid plans to Rs 397. The prepaid plan gives 2GB daily high-speed data, with unlimited calls and SMS for the first 60 days. BSNL also reintroduced its Rs 398 prepaid plan till July 2021 that gives unlimited data benefit but has a validity of 30 days. Both plans have a difference of just one rupee but offer varying benefits.
BSNL Rs 397 prepaid plan: BSNL Rs 397 prepaid recharge plan gives its users unlimited voice calls and 2GB daily data for 60 days. The overall validity of the plan is 365 days. Users opting for the first recharge Rs 365 plan will also get free Personalised Ring Back Tone (PRBT) and 100 free SMS per day. Users must note that they get high speed till the consumption of 2GB daily data after which the speed will be reduced to 80 Kbps. The plan also gives unlimited calls to any network. Even though the validity of the PV is 365 days, the users can avail unlimited voice and data freebies with PRBT for 60 days. After 60 days, they can get unlimited data and calling benefits by recharging vouchers.
Rs 398 prepaid plan: BSNL introduced a prepaid plan at Rs 398 for a promotional period of 90 days, in January this year. The plan saw an extension and will now be valid till July 8, 2021. The plan offers unlimited data without any FUP limit. It also offers unlimited calls with 100 free SMS and 30-days validity. The Free SMS per day will be applicable in home and national roaming including the MTNL network roaming area of Delhi and Mumbai. The telco notes that the SMS or voice benefits, under the Rs 398 offer cannot be used for outgoing premium numbers, international numbers, and other chargeable shortcodes.
BSNL users can opt for either plan depending on their requirements. While the Rs 397 prepaid plan is ideal to keep a user's SIM active with 2GB daily data with calling and SMS benefit for 60 days, the Rs 398 prepaid plan gives unlimited data with no FUP limit for 30 days. If users are looking for more validity and can make do with lesser data, they should opt for Rs 397 prepaid plan while if they are looking for unlimited data with a month's validity, they should go for Rs 398 prepaid plan.
