Advantage Computers India Pvt. Ltd (ADCOM) has stepped into the
budget smartphone segment by launching six smartphones in its 'ADCOM Thunder' smartphone series.
Running on the Android operating system, all the six smartpones are priced between Rs 3,199 and Rs 8,999. While those at the lower end of the price spectrum operate on
Android IceCream Sandwich, the higher ones run Android Jelly Bean, v4.1.
The most high-end version is the ADCOM Thunder A530 HD. It has a 5.3 inch HD display and is powered by a 1Ghz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM. Being a dual SIM smartphone, it supports 2G/3G hot spot functionality. It comes with 4GB internal storage, plus a memory card slot supporting a maximum of 32GB.
Sanjeev Bhatia, Founder & Chairman, ADCOM, says: "In another month's time, we plan to launch a quad-core processor smartphone in the price-bracket of Rs 10,000. For the first three months, we will be selling smartphones in the northern part of India. We will expand our operation to the East followed by the rest of the India thereafter. We also aim to sell 100,000 smartphones during the first year."
