For a company that was focussed on computer accessories and storage for a long time, Amkette has really changed with the times.

After the success of its innovative EvoTV smart box for televisions, the company has now ventured into the mobile audio segment with a handful of devices that promise to be small but loud at the same time.

Company director Rajiv Bapna says it is quite clear that mobile phones are now becoming the primary source of music and Amkette wanted to cater to this audience. To this effect the company set up the Amkette Acoustix R&D lab which has now produced the first set of devices under the Trubeats brand name.

Priced at Rs 3,195, the 32-gram Slix headphones can run for up to five hours on a single charge.
The top of the line product is the Slix, a wireless Bluetooth stereo headphone that lets you enjoy music from a phone or tablet even while letting you take and make calls. Priced at Rs 3,195, this 32-gram headphones can run for up to five hours on a single charge. The design makes the Slix comfortable to use even when you are in the gym, though the earbuds are not sweat resistant.

The circumaural Free Spirit range of headphones, meanwhile, come in three vibrant design themes. With a price tag of Rs 1,995, Amkette hopes the wired headphones will find traction among youngsters due to its loud colours and unique back band design.

The heavy, metal-finish, Metal Bluetooth speaker is the loudest in its category according to the company
Another unique product is the Metal Bluetooth speaker with calling. This heavy, metal-finish, speaker is the loudest in its category according to the company. Along with the extra loud sound, it lets users place calls and answer them from the device itself. The Metal is priced at Rs 2,995.

The Solo Jukebox, which is available in wired and wireless versions, is similar to the Metal, but comes with a bass amplification tunnel that makes its sound more subtle. Interestingly, many Solos can be connected together to create a better audio experience. The wireless Solo will cost Rs 1,995, while the wired one is cheaper at Rs 1,295.

The products will be available with leading electronic stores and retailers from next week. Amkette is also working on other innovative products and there would be added to this range soon, Bapna added.
