Review: Plantronics ML2 is best headset at Rs 1,199

There isn't much to expect from an affordable Bluetooth headset. But the Plantronics ML2 is different. At a price point of Rs 1,199, the ML2 looks good.

This sleek headset has a black matt finish with glossy edges. There is a single key on the headset that can be used for various actions including turning it on, off, answering calls and handling voice commands. The universal eartip at the back is very comfortable to wear for long durations.

Setting up the ML2 was simple too. I was able to pair it with my phone in less than a minute. Just like other headsets, it comes with multipoint connectivity and can be paired with two phones at the same time to take calls from either one. While answering calls, none of those I spoke to was able to make out I was using a Bluetooth headset.

There is an Audio IQ technology that suppresses the background noise. There is also a voice calling feature that can be activated by pressing the call button for two seconds. But it has problems - making calls was tough as it could not make out the names asked for. A single charge lasted about 5 and a half hours.

To keep the price low, Plantronics has done away with the charging cable, which isn't a good idea. However, it can be charged using the universal chargers we have today.
